More international at this year’s first Formex

The first Formex of the year is now over, and just like its theme it was filled with exciting meetings and many new, interesting exhibitors. When the fair closed on Saturday, 23,2017 visitors from 61 countries had come through the doors during the four-day event.

This clearly indicates that Formex is an established meeting place on the international stage. The Nordic countries are most strongly represented, but more and more visitors are coming from further abroad. The countries with the greatest increase in visitors at this Formex were Japan, Spain, Poland, Norway and Switzerland.

There were 800 exhibitors from 23 countries, with Sweden and Denmark the clear leaders followed by Finland, Norway and Germany.

“Formex works with three key words: Inspiration, Knowledge and Business. It seems there was a lot of business conducted at the fair – 63% of the visitors say they have ordered or will place an order during the fair and 59% say they will place or recommend placing an order within 12 months.

There were a lot of inspirational stands and quite a few exhibitors had redesigned their stands, which appears to have been well received by the visitors. Feedback from the visitors is very positive, and many plan on coming to the next fair in August, which we think is great,” says Christina Olsson, Event Manager for Formex.

Formex Formidable 2016
The jury-selected award, Formex Formidable 2016, went to Stelton for its Collar collection, which consists of a coffee grinder, mocha pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. The collection was designed by Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri.

The People’s Choice award, which is determined by the general public, goes to Skrufs Glasbruk’s bowl with spout designed by Carina Seth Andersson.

The next Formex will be held August 23-26, 2017, at Stockholmsmässan.
