  • Why Formex?

Formex was founded back in 1960 and is today one
of the oldest and largest trade fairs for the gift and interior design industry in the Nordic region. The fair is arranged twice a year, once in January and once in August, and over time has become the given meeting place for anyone interested in Nordic design, interior design and tomorrow’s designers.

More than 850 exhibitors come together for each fair, bringing with them a large range of products within the areas of interior design, gifts, design, kid’s products, fashion, accessories and much more. Formex provides a platform where both national and international buyers, agents, wholesalers, importers, designers, producers and media from the entire interior design and gift industry can meet and be inspired. Formex attracts approximately 23,000 visitors and 800 media representatives to each of its fairs. In addition to business opportunities, excellent networking activities and a chance to see new, innovative design, the fair’s
exhibitions, lectures and workshops also give visitors the opportunity to follow trends, find inspiration and learn.

  • Young Designers

Young Designers is the area at Formex where independent designers and design groups can both sell their products and display them for buyers, partners, producers and the press/media.

Applicants apply for Young Designers by submitting pictures of their products, a short description of the product concept and a summary of their personal design background. The products should be new on the market but ready for sale. When making our selection, we look at the products in terms of the innovative value of their idea and form and strive for a mix of products within the area.

The area has been constructed to be architecturally exciting and different from the other stands in the hall. Every effort is made to create a strong individual profile that exudes innovation and design. This makes it easy and cost-efficient for individual exhibitors. The stand is ready to use, with a rug, electrical outlet, lighting and the exhibitor’s name in vinyl text on the wall. With the established form and color as a base, each exhibitor is then free to style their space as they see fit.

It is possible to exhibit as an individual designer or as a design group. Exhibitors may participate as a Young Designers maximum three times on the condition that they have new products or developed their products. There is no age limit for applicants.

    Price:  5000 sek

  • Next Step

Next Step is the area at Formex for designers who are at a relative early stage in their establishment.

Either you have exhibited as a Young Designer previously and are moving on to Next Step in the process toward a “regular” stand or you are  a designer in an early stage of your establishment taking your first step as an exhibitor.

The stands have the same design and come equipped with: A rug, electrical outlet, name of the exhibitor in vinyl text on the stand wall and two spotlights. The goal is to create a shared expression in the area and simplify participation for the individual exhibitor.

You will have the opportunity to design your own stand and are free to choose other alternatives, such as the rug and wall color, but at your own expense. It is possible for you to exhibit as an individual designer or as a design group. An exhibitor may participate in Next Step a maximum of three times. The number of spaces is limited.

  • Summary vistor and exhibitor survey

For a number of years, Formex has been following developments in the pattern of visitors at both the spring and the autumn show. The surveys have been used as means of developing and adapting the event to meet visitor and exhibitor expectations.

On behalf of Formex, Fairlink performs a series of interviews with visitors and exhibitors during the fair.

The purpose of the visitor survey is:
    • To continuously follow up and monitor the audience composition and the audience's attitude to the fair
    • To create a basis for product development, advertising, media selection, and sales pitch towards both visitors and exhibitors
    • To measure the level of service at Stockholmsmässan's various service functions

The purpose of the exhibitor survey is:
    • To evaluate the exhibitors' opinions about the fair
    • To get at picture of the business effects that the participation at Formex has had for the exhibitors
    • To continuously measure the range and quality of Stockholmsmässan's various service functions
