On the 19 – 25 of August, the same week as Formex, Summer Design Week brings together participants within the interior design, art, craftsmanship, fashion, music and food craftsmanship industries to celebrate design and showcase Stockholm as a design city. During an entire week the city will be buzzing with a number of different design events and both stockholmers and tourists gather to visit open showrooms, exhibitions, workshops and mingle evenings.

If you are in the city during these days, you can experience the British fashion designer Zandra Rhodes colorful exhibition at Stockholms Auktionsverk, where she will auction her artwork, posters and several exclusively selected garments. The Interior designer Costas Voyatzis, from Greece, and also founder of the successful online destination Yatzer, will curate a meeting between the brands Mateus and the French textile company Pierre Frey during the week. Also, for the first time in Sweden the playful concept Design Diplomacy will be arranged. A concept that  was initiated by Helsinki Design Week to promote relationships between countries and designers.

Nationalmuseum, Sweden’s national arena for art and design, is one of the partners behind design week, and will feature design breakfasts, after work events and specially guided tours of the exhibition on Danish Finn Juhl.
