Theme day - Trends & Colors

During Thursday, it's time for Formex's popular theme day Color and Trends. Inspired by upcoming seasonal trends, colors and design expressions. During the day, several international trendsetters share their insights on the future of design and interiors.

The program for the day will be updated continuously. Note that several of the lectures are held in Swedish.

Rikke Skytte - Reconnect

Danish trendsetter Rikke Skytte specializes in future development of product design, interior design and architecture. With a scientific attitude and an intuitive feeling of our common future, Rikke invites her audience to a world of inspiration and useful information. During Formex, she presents the upcoming trend Reconnect. The research is based on the paradigm change that is taking place in the design industry and she talks about the new role and importance of design.

Hilary Alexander – legendary fashion journalist

Hilary Alexander is a celebrated fashion journalist and editor for Hello fashion Monthly. She is also the former fashion director of the Daliy telegraph, stylist and two times winner of “Journalist of the year” for British Fashion Award.

Karl Johan Bertilsson  NCS Color Trend Evolution 2019-2021

Discover how trend colors move over time and gain insight into how NCS interprets the colors of the future. NCS Colors annually performs color trend tensions and holds recognized NCS Color Trend Talks worldwide. Karl Johan Bertilsson, Creative Director at NCS Color, shares how color trends develop, what factors drive the different color directions and what color trends are for the coming years.

Lotta Ahlvar  Scene of Beauty

Formex is always at the forefront in terms of trends and inspiration. Formex's own trend expert Lotta Ahlvar describes spring's three major trends. Concrete Brutalism, Negative Space and Sensational Flow. The trends are also presented in an inspiring exhibition on site - interpreted by stylist Tina Hellberg and in a brand new printed guide Formex SS20 - Guide to Trends & Inspiration.

Louise Klarsten  Trend to style

Louise Klarsten, CEO and owner of ColourHouse, presents color selections, material and shape inspiration for autumn and winter 2020-21. She talks about the 20th century's conscious design expression and Next Interior Trend, a Scandinavian trend guide for interior design. With international influences, interpreted through the needle-eye of Scandinavian preferences, the Next Interior Trend guide has become a natural part of the range planning and interior design process for many companies.
