Design Students Selected by Formex
Formex selects its favorites from amongst the latest group of design graduates from institutions including Konstfack, Beckmans, Malmstens and Berghs.
Design Students Selected is a jury selection of recently graduated design students who are given the opportunity to show off their degree projects to visitors and members of the press during the fair. The 12 selected students come from a variety of different institutions, universities, colleges or craft schools such as Konstfack (University of Arts, Craft and Design), Beckmans School of Design, Malmstens, the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås and Berghs School of Communications. This year, for the first time, the jury has also decided to select students from the Handicrafts and Design course at Linköping University.
Formex wants to highlight interesting design solutions, processes or products that deliver that extra “wow” experience. The purpose of Design Students Selected is twofold - to create industry visibility for designers who are as yet unknown to the wider world, and to give visitors, press and buyers a platform to meet and establish relationships with these recently-graduated creators.
The students’ work includes examples of innovative shapes and patterns, as well as a range of different, exciting products. This year’s exhibition will focus on sustainability, reuse and innovative projects or objects that raise the field of interior design to new levels.
